When I looked into the energy of early June recently upon writing angel messages that I post weekly on my blog and daily on Facebook, the theme of light came up. Then, when I looked at what popped up for June in my 2013 You Tube Reading (Part 2) which I had made months ago, it also mentioned that an aspect of this month is about us coming out of the shadows and into the LIGHT, seeing ourselves, things and our lives more clearly. I love synchronicities.

This morning I was reading an excerpt from the book I am currently reading: Emissary of Light by James Twyman. I paused to reflect on the page that very simply explained what many of us are discovering – that each of us are embodiments of Divine Light and have the natural God-given ability to not only be conscious of it for ourselves, but also to extend it outward to others. However first, we must go about a process of ‘unlearning’ all the illusions that have so far been feeding (or rather fooling) us.

So putting this all into context, we are guided to see that light within each of us. You can visualise a powerful light within you growing strongly luminating outwards like a bright beacon. Then see this light expanding even further outwards and reaching anyone who is in need. Send light to people and places in the world who are going through rough times. The angels are asking us to do this every day or as much as possible, it only needs to take a moment. So if you could take that moment now, and for the rest of your day, you will see how your light greatly impacts not only yourself and your energy, but also others around you. You can add this simple practise to your daily spiritual routine.

Also, remember to see the light in each person, no matter what they are otherwise projecting, even if it is in complete discordance with you. A part of this wisdom is knowing that only love is real and that ultimately, love heals fear. I know this is hard to do when someone has crossed you the wrong way, especially repetitively, but it cant hurt you to try and at least do it for yourself instead of harbouring and carrying around anger, resentment or thick, dense energy. You can quietly send people ‘love and light,’ like those drivers that get in your way, and then go about your day in a more peaceful way.

Always remember that  love dissolves fear, so send love to all. Try it, you may surprise yourself no matter how grumpy you might be This  is so effective for bullies, angry people, and negative energy of all kinds.

Okay, so what other guidance is there… June is also
about seeing the bigger picture, and building a foundation for ourselves. It is a full reminder of the power of praying and forming positive intentions and affirmations for yourself and outwards from there (much like the ‘light’ exercise). Your clarity, focus, love, light, positivity and drive really can play a part in transforming the world. Never doubt the power you have and the part you have the potential to play once you step into your own power and see yourself and the world for what it really is once you’ve peeled back the illusive layers.

And don’t forget the powerful force that expressing gratitude can be. Even when we are going through hard, challenging times, there is so much to be genuinely grateful for. Start with your family/loved ones/friends, your home, the trees, flowers, birds, sunshine, favourite belongings,  music — whatever it is for you.

This month there is also a lot of healing energy around issues of money. We have abundance coming from the fruits of our labours and intentions. For some people it all seems to be coming together – so make sure your mind is clear and your are well rooted  and cleansed in your lower chakras. Also, being a mid-year time as we approach the end of the fiscal year with taxes, finances coming up is by no coincidence! So as we dot our i’s and cross our t’s, we gain a new clarity and freshness for the next part in our journey. And you will feel clearer come you get your papers and finances in order.

From ‘Ancient Oracle’ to 21st Century ‘Oracle Cards’

THE HISTORY OF ORACLE CARDS

What is an Oracle?

An ‘oracle’, in ancient times, was either a sacred place where the ancient Greeks for example would go to consult a God, or it was an actual person who acted as an ‘oracle’ or ‘seer’, with the deep and discerning  ability to offer  guidance and wisdom, sourced from the Divine. Many people including notable figures of history would go to oracles to get answers and guidance, or as a means of connecting directly to specific Gods or spirits.

Now, in modern times, we see that there are many forms of oracles. There are psychics, clairvoyants, mediums, and many other variations of people with spiritual gifts of seeing, knowing, hearing or feeling.

Oracle cards are basically a divination tool used to gain insight. They are cards with pictures, symbols and sometimes words or numbers. For many centuries, people have used tarot cards and even traditional playing cards. Nowadays, there are many kinds of oracle cards, many of which have themes or are focused on a particular being such as angels, archangels, fairies and mermaids. Many lightworkers refer to these cards generically as ‘angel cards.’ , as they work purely with love and light. The Divine guidance that angel cards provide is always “uplifting, positive and loving. Angel messages always mention how to improve something: an outlook, one’s health, relationships, the environment, the world, and so on.” (quoted from The Angel Therapy Handbook, Doreen Virtue, p.49)

The idea is that the card reader taps into the universal consciousness of symbolism and archetypes provided by the card’s visual imagery, as well as follow their own intuitive hunches or psychic sensations, in order to gain meaning and give messages. If the card reader has psychic ability, then they are able to tap into the person they are reading for, as well as beings in other dimensions such as angels, or loved ones in spirit (which involves ‘mediumship’).

How do Card Readings Work?

It is important to understand that angel cards are tools that offer general guidance for our personal and spiritual development. Neither the cards nor the reader predict your future as an absolute outcome as such, as you have free will to make your own choices or to change your path. Rather, the cards offer you a look at the bigger picture, as well as anything that you may need to know or have delivered to your consciousness for growth and healing to take place.

The Process

The card reader will likely call upon beings of light or their own spirit team, or that of their client. They may perform their own sacred ritual or invocation, or set a specific intention for the reading, as well as use some  clearing and protection methods. They will then use their own method of choosing cards or selecting ‘spreads’ for the client.

Oracle Cards and the Law of Attraction

Many people giving oracle cards a go for the first time worry that they’ll pick the ‘wrong card’. But that is not possible, so you don’t need to worry. The Law of Attraction is in action every time a card is drawn, resulting in the right card being picked, regardless of the method being  used.

Sometimes the same card (or different card with a similar meaning) will pop up more than once, this by no mistake. When this happens, the Law of Attraction is telling you to pay attention to the message. It is a form of validation for you to be aware and to get your attention so that you follow the guidance being given. Messages and signs will be repeated until you take notice and more importantly, take whatever physical / mental / emotional / spiritual action the card is trying to convey. It is like being given a clue, or a key. It is up to you to turn the lock, release any fears, and take that
next step, by being aware and opening any doors that come to you.

So I recommend you give oracle cards a go. There are many online applications that allow you to pick a card or card spread from a site, or you can try buying your own deck. Oracle cards can be found at good book stores, metaphysical shops or online. When choosing a pack, use your intuition and go with whichever theme or pack stands out to you.

Preparing for a Reading Session:

Lightworkers who offer authentic spiritual services such as readings, healings and energy work are very aware that they need to be well grounded, centred and ensure that their own energy is clear and high vibrational. As many people doing such work are sensitive and empathic by nature, looking after their own body, mind and spirit as well as emotional state is absolutely vital. We want to make sure that we are clear, pure channels.

Before giving a reading, I make sure that not only my personal energy, but also working space and equipment is cleansed, clear and protected. I also set my positive intention and say prayers for the reading and the client.  I ask for the angels, archangels, loved ones in spirit, spirit teams and other beings of Light to be present, and that accurate messages for the Highest Good of the client come through. Part of this intention includes asking Archangel Michael to remove any thoughts that may come from ego rather than Divine guidance.  I then tune into the client and the cards drawn, and take it from there. Intuitive information often comes in flashes, or in scattered parts, so if you are requesting a reading, please keep this in mind and know that the information is given as received/felt, in order for it to be kept as pure as possible. this is also the way an authentic medium would work.

During every session, the angels are not only invoked, but also are asked to watch over the client and his/her loved ones both during and after the reading, so that their loving angelic support, help and guidance and whatever healing is needed takes place. Where necessary, cords of attachment are removed. And I may offer a prayer or affirmation.

The Client’s Role:

Clients are asked to approach readings with an open heart and mind, and are reminded that readings give guidance on the client’s life, but the rest is up to them. At times the cards may not answer your question directly, but rather offer a message about something you are possibly unaware of, avoiding, or perhaps bring up an issue that is deeply buried.  Rest assured, whatever message that needs to come through to you at the time, will. You are encouraged to use your own discernment and give your own interpretations, for no one knows your life more than you! So it is important that you trust your own intuition and gut too! Remember to be kind on yourself and open to the spiritual process.

Always remember that the reader is merely the instrument through which Divine guidance comes through. So if you receive a message that you are unsure about or does not seem to relate to your life at present, there is the possibility that it could reflect something yet to come into your life, so stay open and aware for some time after the reading. Sometimes a word or message may bring up an emotional reaction, or may place you in a state of denial. Just be gentle with yourself and know that everything is okay and in perfect Divine order.  Awareness is the first step. Changes can always be made slowly – baby steps to your growth, healing and transformation.  For me, if I have planted a little seed of hope, faith or direction in a client, then I feel I have been of service and done my job with grace, compassion and honesty.

Asking Questions in a Reading:

When you request a reading, you always have the option to just keep it general and see what messages come for you, or you may choose to ask one or more questions, depending on what kind of reading it is. Below are some examples of the kinds of questions you may ask, although you may ask whatever you wish, so it is not a limited list. I will always let you know if I feel the question needs to be rephrased or changed into something more suitable, or if I feel it is unethical in some way (I won’t asnser questions about other people for example). And remember, sometimes answers come to other areas of your life you have not asked about! Keep in mind it is better to ask more general rather than specific yes/no questions.

Examples of Questions:

• What do I need to know about my life right now?
• What do I need to know about the next steps for me to take?
• What can you tell me about my career/life purpose/finances?
• What guidance is there for my health?
• What can you tell me about my love life/partner/potential
  relationship?
• What do the cards say about me moving house?
